The year of 2024 marked ten years since I started this website. Over a full decade of history discoveries, learning, sewing and educating now. What started out as a small website passion project has grown remarkably and the journey has continually kept inspiring me to sew, write, learn and create educational content. I am immensely grateful that so many of you, many hundred thousands over the years, share these interests with me. My name is Nina and I am an art historian. I am delighted that you are here and share the passion for history, dress and sewing. Can you believe this website has its ten year anniversary this year?

I started teaching myself how to sew when I was in my early teens to be able to make historical costumes and this inspired a long love for dress history and textile crafts. I also illustrate historical fashion and share these on Instagram. The content on this website is in my native German and in English.
